Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, CNV’s first Deputy Director – Real Estate and Economic Development will provide leadership to its Real Estate and Economic Development teams. |
Responsibilities | In this role, you will lead the development of a Land Stewardship Model for CNV’s residential and commercial landholdings covering land acquisition, portfolio optimization, and use, lead real estate and land development research, and provide strategic real estate advice in support of CNV’s vision for redeveloping areas of the City, including the best use of surplus lands. You will oversee strong economic development work in the City, including the development and implementation of economic development strategies, policies, plans and programs as well as the management of business licensing and related regulations to support the City’s business community. As a key member of the senior management team, you will seek and respond to opportunities to drive the growth and diversification of CNV’s revenues, develop strong and positive relationships with external stakeholders, and contribute to the strategic direction and overall management and growth of the City. |
Requirements | You will have post-secondary business degree with a focus on real estate economics or appraisal, or equivalent, along with seven years of related work experience. Certification with the Appraisal Institute of Canada and/or a Masters of Business Administration Degree would be an asset. You will also have extensive knowledge and experience with complex lands negotiations and business development experience. You will have proven interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to guide and direct a team of professionals, as well as the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with elected officials, stakeholders, and the general public. |
