The Engineering, Parks & Environment Department – Facilities Division requires auxiliary Building Service Workers. |
| Responsibilities | You will sweep, wash, wax, and polish floors, hallways and related areas; vacuum carpets; wash hand basins, sinks, toilets, and tile; replenish washroom supplies; pick up, collect and dispose of refuse; set up tables and chairs; assist in event setup and removal, move furniture, perform special cleaning tasks, perform minor building maintenance and repair tasks as well as other related duties that may be assigned. |
| Requirements | You will have related experience and knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial work, plus some knowledge of routine building maintenance and minor repair tasks. You must be able to work independently, and understand and follow oral/written instructions. Completion of Building Service Worker courses resulting in a diploma is a definite asset. You may be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance should you be scheduled to perform Building Service Worker duties at the North Vancouver RCMP facilities. |
| Compensation | $27.30 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (Pay Grade 13 – January 2024 rates) |
| Hours of Work | Auxiliary, hours will vary. Hours between 6:00am and 11:00pm any seven days a week. |
